Truck
tuggin' began over 20 years ago! The first truck tug of wars
involved two single light
bulbs (placed 100 ft apart),
a 30 ft cable (with a red rag hanging down in the center), and
trucks
ready to tug. Things have progressed
a little over the past 20 years and now this is a full blown
motor sport activity that the entire
family can enjoy! The whole purpose is to still hook 2
trucks
bumper-to-bumper on a white line, flip the
lights, and watch them go at it for 30 seconds. The
winner is the competitor who pulls the
other truck the farthest after time is up.
In 2005, we started the
"Kentucky
Truck Tuggers, Inc." (KTT INC.)
which is an organized
club with members and officers. KTT
tugs all over the state of Kentucky at county fairs, festivals,
and exhibitions.
We have three classes:
"The Light but Tough 4000 lb. Four Wheel Drives"
"The Standing Tall 5500 lb. Two Wheel Drives"
"The Big Boys 6000 lb. Four Wheel Drives"
Participants are required to become a
member of KTT and must abide by the rules set by the club.
They can win prize money and trophies
throughout the year and the top points trucks in each
class are rewarded at the end of each
season at our annual picnic/banquet .
KTT thanks all those participants and fans who
make this sport successful!
